Five Lands (Cinque Terre) - Campiglia
Campiglia Tramonti is a village situated on the ridge of the hills that encompasses the western gulf of La Spezia. Border point between the National Park of Cinque Terre and Portovenere Regional Park, it offers panoramic glimpses that go beyond the eastern Gulf, to the Alps. In the direction of Porto Venere, the territory expands until the rocks of Albana, said 'the Red' due to iron oxides which give a very deep red color, and those of Muzzerone, or 'the black', for the slate. Due to its special position of the ridge, is the center of a major network of footpaths. The territory is crossed over by the two main ridge streets of La Spezia coast, the CAI path 1 and the top path of the Gulf. Campiglia is renowned for the production of the wine Sciachetrà, but also for the collection of precious saffron, that growth spontaneous and is also cultivated. - See the Five Lands (Cinque Terre) map with a complete picture set.
