Kenya - Puff adder
The Puff Adder is one of the most common snakes in Africa. It gets its name from its habit of inflating its body and emitting a deep, low warning hiss to warn intruders to stay away. Its venom is strongly hemotoxic, destroying bloods cells and causing extensive tissue damage. It is largely nocturnal, hunting at night and seeking shelter during the day's heat. © Michael Frank - See the Kenya map with a complete picture set.
