Kharan.

Capitale del distretto con lo stesso nome, dove vive la tribù dei Kharanees che Pottinger stima a 1.000 persone, capeggiate da Meer Abbass.

Pottinger nel "Travels In Beloochistan And Sinde" cita poi le caratteristiche dei cammelli di Kharan usati per le attività predatorie: "The camels of Kharan are the most celebrated in all these regions for strength and activity, a circumstance that gives their masters in their predatory pursuits a decided superiority over their neighbours."

Pottinger ci racconta anche del sirdar della città: “Its Sirdar, Abbas Khan Nousherwanee, was tributary to Muhmood Khan till within these last four years, when he declared himself exempt from controul in any shape whatever; he can call five or six hundred men of his own tribe into the field, and the Nousherwanees are considered excellent and hardy soldiers.”

Del libro Voyages Dans Le Beloutchistan Et Le Sindhy si trovano alcune edizioni anche su Amazon, sono delle riproduzioni del 1923 del testo originale di Pottinger del 1816, con delle imperfezioni dovute alla scannerizzazione di pagine molto vecchie e un po’ rovinate.
