dal “Gazetteer of the Countries Adjacent to India North-West”: “OOTUL, in Beloochistan, a small town of the province of Lus, situate on the route from Sonmeeanee to Bela, and twenty-five miles north of the former place. It is clean and well built, in a pleasant site, amidst groves and crops of grain and cotton. Provisions may be had in moderate quantities; honey is remarkably abundant and excellent. Good water is obtained from wells of a great depth. The population, about 2,000 persons, contribute annually four thousand rupees to the revenue of the Jam of Lus. Pottinger describes the people at the time of his visit as “very contented and happy. They have immense flocks of sheep and goats, besides herds of black cattle and camels.” Ootul is in lat. 25° 44’, long. 66° 33’.”

(Intorno a queste coordinate Google Map non mostra nulla, però a 12 km c’è Uthal, che per assonanza con Ootul potrebbe essere lo stesso luogo, e si trova dopo la precedente località mappabile su Google Maps, Lyari, e prima della prossima località mappabile, Wayara.)

Nel 2010 il “Gazetteer of the Countries Adjacent to India North West” è stato ristampato dalla British Library ed è ora facilmente acquistabile anche su Amazon.
